FAQ

Everything you need before your first training block.

What is 5/3/1?

5/3/1 is a long-term strength training method built around squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press. Training uses percentages of a conservative training max and progresses gradually.

Do I need an account?

No. You can set up a programme and log workouts locally without creating an account. An account is only needed for purchases and future account-linked features.

Does 531 work offline?

Yes. Your training plan and workout log are stored locally on your device, so the core app continues to work without an internet connection.

Which programmes are included?

The app currently supports Classic 5/3/1 and Boring But Big, including the main four lifts, percentage-based working sets, and accessory work.

Can I use pounds or kilograms?

Yes. Choose lb or kg during setup, and change units or training maxes later from Settings.

Can I back up my workouts?

Yes. Export a JSON backup from Settings and restore it later on the same or another device.
